Stephanie and I finally decided on a destination to which we may recite our nuptials, a decision that was generally easy. We had a phone date last Friday night in which we researched our three favorite destinations and dates and presented them to each other. Fortunately we came up with compatible interests and decided on a Labor Day Weekend Wedding in Bermuda. Now, since I have posted this blog entry and have yet to inform my family and friends to save the date, I am on the bad side of a couple of dozen potential attendees. But the truth is we are far from settled on the details.

Not only will this help us judge the deals from the traps, but we now have an anchor point to work up (hopefully down) from. It's a boon for the engineer in me, and an opportunity to craft a multi-attribute decision model which will hopefully help our stress level remain as low as possible. As you can see, the options themselves are tied to dollar values, and the decision comes in when you decide to check the box. I've added an additional few columns in the style of ColdStone Creamery which will measure the utility of our preference. When the rubber hits the pavement, which will be sometime after (but not before) the end of this semester, the model will come in useful as we make compromises to our wedding event.
